28,000 at Disney, 32,000 in the airline industry. Snap of the fingers, gone.
Tell me again how we don't need another stimulus package and/or enhanced unemployment benefits.
60,000 devastated families, Trump, McConnell and Pelosi.
Get off your asses and do your job.

The blame here isn't symmetric. It takes two to tango. The House passed its bill in May. --Bob

Perhaps the House should just have stuck to Coronavirus relief. They packed in so much other, non-related, crap that even 14 Democrats voted against it.

Given all the crap tax breaks for the rich that Republicans
snuck into the first bill, they're in no position to complain about anything like that.
Perhaps the Republicans shouldn't have waited three fucking months to begin negotiating. --Bob

Disney has placed the blame on the layoffs largely at the feet of Governor Newsom, who has refused to allow the California parks to open and keeps changing the rules for opening. Bob Iger has quit being part of Newsom’s task force apparently in protest.

Laid-off employees can get new jobs. Dead Disney customers can't.

If Disney wanted to continue to pay its employees (excuse me, cast members), it easily has the resources to do so. One of the world's most profitable companies decided instead to prioritize continued profits. Legal, but they're not entitled to any moral high ground here.
As far as I'm concerned, Governor Newsom has done a masterful job managing the pandemic here. He'll be well positioned for a Presidential run in 2028. --Bob

In the immortal words of the great American philosopher Clark W. Griswold: I don't give a frog's fat ass who's fault it is.
Get these people some help.

Hyperbole much? Given that the vast majority of deaths occur in residents of long-term care facilities there is not much of an overlap between Disney customers and Covid deaths.
But, you keep being "Drama Queen" you.

As usual, you're full of shit.
Over 20% of the deaths have been people younger than 65. And an awful lot of people older than 65 are not in long-term care facilities.
But if you're so convinced, Spock, that it's not a big deal, why don't you sign up to volunteer for a challenge trial? Or does your cavalier attitude end when you have to back it up with your own actions? --Bob

And the families come back from vacation and infect grandma and grandpa.

And again you want to limit this to a discussion of just the people who died. There are a lot of people who have been hospitalized in the last six months who have gone through days or weeks of agony, and many of them have flareups and bad days now. And again, we don't know if there are going to be any long-term effects from COVID.
