Maybe it's the fact that I live in North Carolina and have been to Ocracoke Inlet where Black Beard was killed, but to me that seems like rather an easy question for the million.

A long while back, somebody here, or more likely in an older version of the Bored, said that the million dollar question was a reward for getting the real toughies at $250K and $500K.

I don't remember all the million questions, but those I do remember, I have to agree -- miles earth from the sun, which President was on Laugh-In . . .

I think Fresca (a/k/a Ken Basin) might disagree with that assessment. --Bob

I thought it was easy. It was one of the very few at that level I knew before the answers came up. But to this day, I can't tell you if the first moon golf shot was hit with a six or a seven iron.

Easy for me for the same reasons, but also because Lt. Governor Spottswood, who sent out the raid that captured Blackbeard, was the father-in-law of my distant cousin, Nathaniel West Dandridge.

Where in Carolina do you live? I'm in Goldsboro.

I lived in Raleigh for over two years starting in 1982. We went to the coast a lot. I moved to Columbia, SC in 2009, and lived there for almost four years. I moved from there to Raleigh for a year. I got a job with Lincoln Financial and thought I'd have to move to Greensboro, but when I was told I would work from home, I moved to the Tucson, AZ area.

So proud of your ancestor that you can't even spell his name correctly. When he captured Blackbeard, did he add him to his collection of slaves?

WTF? Lt. Governor Spottswood is not my ancestor and his name is correct. All he received of Blackbeard was his rotting head.
