Well, There Goes Another Big City Amenity
Latest trend is protesters confronting diners at outside tables. I have seen other examples of this also.

Way to attract people who most likely already agree with you.
But I guess the protesters are really federal agents and right-wingers.

I'm at lot more concerned about cops shooting an unarmed Black man in the back seven times. Just like I was a lot more concerned about a cop kneeling on a Black man's neck until he died. Why aren't you? --Bob

My guess is that anyone who dines outside in any large city in America has seen a whole lot more disturbing sights at one time or another than a group of peaceful protestors chanting and marching.Spock wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 11:23 amLatest trend is protesters confronting diners at outside tables. And, Spock, if you want something to get upset about, you might try this. Raphael Warnock is the leading Democratic candidate in the special Senate election here in Georgia for the seat currently held by Kelly Loeffler:
https://www.ajc.com/politics/politics-b ... H7T6WJDKQ/Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Raphael Warnock was bombarded by racist trolls while delivering virtual remarks to a county party late Monday, leading local officials to promise to increase their online security for future meetings. Shortly after the Hall County Democratic Party meeting began on Zoom, several attendees began repeatedly hurling the N-word at the Black pastor of Atlanta’s famed Ebenezer Baptist Church. Others spouted nonsense from the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory and shared graphic porn.
“I had to play ‘Whack a Troll,’” said party chair Kim Copeland, who was moderating the discussion when the racial epithets popped up on the Zoom chat. “To say I was shocked was an understatement. I’m still in shock, to be honest.” Candice Dyer, a writer and party volunteer, described it as “a cacophony of the worst of human awfulness, in response to a dignified public servant and person of faith.” She added: “I feel broken-hearted.”

BTW it is not just that diners are simply viewing protests. The whole point is that diners are being confronted.

Keep on keeping on shooting unarmed black men seven times in the back in front of their children when they are getting in their car. Nice voter outreach plan you have going.
Your relative degree of outrage at the shooting of an unarmed black man vs. upsetting a white diner is not surprising. Both actions were wrong. The white diner will walk away. The black man may never walk again.

Yes, because we all know that BLM type protests would never include chants like "Down with white supremacy."silverscreenselect wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 1:02 pmIt's interesting that the only thing I can clearly hear on this clip is someone shouting "white supremacy."Spock wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 12:39 pmHere is an example floating around where the protester came right into the dining area.

I'm not talking about what chants might be included at BLM protests, but no one said "Down with white supremacy" in this clip.
I assume you were referring to your own response as the "stupidest political post in the Bored history." Don't worry, you've still got a long way to go before you top some of Flock's zingers.

You know, when you haven't found it in your heart to mention Cannon Hinnant, the 5Yo boy who was shot execution style in front of his siblings by a black neighbor, here-you can spare me the crocodile tears for the Kenosha shooting victim (Blake).silverscreenselect wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 1:20 pmKeep on keeping on shooting unarmed black men seven times in the back in front of their children when they are getting in their car. FTR: Please note that Blake was charged with sexual assault and other crimes on July 6th and presumably the officers were acting on arrest warrants.
You can't use the argument that Cannon's was not a police shooting because you have certainly found it in your heart to talk about the shooting of the black jogger in Georgia.
I am a little lost as to Step 2 in the following process.
Step 1: We are angry about a police shooting in Kenosha
Step 2: ??????????
Step 3: Let's harass outdoor diners in Providence.

Maybe because Cannon Hinnanrt's murderer was found after a 24-hour manhunt launched shortly after it happened.Spock wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 6:06 pm

1) A man murdered a little boy
2) Police put out a dragnet
3) He was caught, arrested and is in jail
4) Hopefully, he will be sent down/up the river for a very very very long time. Maybe some Mob guys will find him in the recreation yard and make life very dead for him.

The bad guy was arrested. About 24 hours after he killed an innocent little boy in cold blood.
But being upset about a man shot in the back while HIS kids watched is crocodile tears?
If, as you say, there were warrants out that the police were looking at, there are other ways to get the guy other than a half-dozen shots to the back.
In front of his kids.
Sounds pretty cold.

Since people are worried about people being paralyzed in shooting incidents
Here is an example from Brooklyn. Sam Metcalfe is paying for the "War on Cops" by facing paralysis.

Mark Steyn's take

>>>"The bifurcation of our society continues, with the law-abiding segment of the citizenry caught in a vise between a micro-regulatory state and the lawless reality of the streets. In New York, the pantechnicon state is so omnipotent that, like the Taliban, it can forbid singing, dancing and jokes. Truly, when it comes to the slow-slow-quick-quick-slow of his subjects, Andrew Cuomo is the non-dancing queen.
"On the other hand, when a man gallantly offers to accompany his wife and hold the umbrella while she walks to buy toothpaste in a "gentrified" part of Flatbush in broad daylight, the all-powerful pantechnicon state is nowhere to be found. And so he gets randomly shot in the spine and is now paralyzed. That's Sam Metcalfe, 33, at right, dancing with his wife back when it was still legal."<<<<

So what you have here is one woman having what seems to be an angry conversation with one diner. You can't tell who's saying what except one person off-camera yelling "white supremacy" and some other comments from others off-camera. There nothing to say the woman is protesting at all.Spock wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 12:39 pmHere is an example floating around where the protester came right into the dining area.

It will take a blind man (cough, cough BobJ) to deny that these protesters are in the diner's face.
Oh, but that is right-we don't know what side they are on. They could be right-wingers in action performing some sort of false flag .

Re: Well, There Goes Another Big City Amenity
You can't tell it from this particular video, but other videos of the incident shot from other angles show that the protestors are wearing tee shirts that identify them as being from a Washington DC area neighborhood association. So, I doubt they traveled to Providence to hassle a diner. And, of course, there's no way of telling just when this particular incident took place. But it still begs the question, is one hassled diner the equivalent of an unarmed man shot seven times in the back by police in front of his children?Bob Juch wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 8:58 pmSo did she say something to piss them off or was she just sitting there?Spock wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 7:20 pmAnother example of Democrat voter outreach in action.

I agree that these jerks shouldn't have done what they did, and it's counterproductive and possibly illegal. But that pales in comparison with the genuine outrage erupting from the Jacob Blake shooting.
And since you really can't defend your false equivalency stance on this, you bring up another unrelated crime, the shooting of Sam Metcalfe in Brooklyn. This was a horrible crime, but I don't see how it has anything to do with the "War on Cops." New York is cutting the police budget, partly in response to the protests and partly as part of overall budget cuts due to funds drying up due to the pandemic. But New York City has more than twice the number of police per capita than most other major cities in the United States. What the Metcalfe tragedy shows is that no matter how many cops you have, they can't be everywhere, and criminals tend to go where the cops aren't to shoot at each other.

Providence was merely the first example given in this thread. It is happening in other cities as well.
The restaurant video above looks like it came straight from the Struggle Sessions in Maoist China and it shares many other characteristics with them as well. IE-the selection and beratement of a random stranger.
It looks like they are yelling "Say 2 plus 2 equals 5, Winston, Say It!!!!!"
