No, TS Laura and TD 14, soon to be Marco, in Gulf of Mexico. They may overlap a bit.

Actually, they're not in the Gulf yet but heading that way.

We're in "where are the candles etc" prep mode. If nothing else I think we'll get a shitload of rain.

There's just no real data on how two simultaneous storms may affect each other's track. Not knowing every variable in the prediction models, I speculate NOAA will learn a lot, which I hope will not need to be applied again for a long time.

At least the forecasted speed is only 75 MPH which is just one higher than the minimum to be considered a hurricane.

Tropical storms can drop a lotta rain and cause massive damage. Harvey, tho a hurricane, was a flooder, as was Allison. With that said, having gone thru Ike I don't wanna hear that mixmaster sound or 60 foot tree plopping sound.
I'm creeping myself out since I just took pics of inside and out. Should have those anyway, but the house is a pit and shoulda put toilet lids down...

Since the pellet smoker is electric we may have to Weber grill everything if power goes out. We got ribs and brisket and the meats. Come over for bbq.

You don't have a back-up generator just for the smoker? Rookie!

We can tie in to our neighbor's...right? The one that automatically revs up at 8 AM EVERY SATURDAY. @#$!$@%
Looks like we'll hopefully dodge Laura assuming it doesn't shift west.

Laura is heading for Lake Charles and will be at 115 MPH.
