Albion college has told students that they can't leave campus this fall without permission and they will be tracked with a phone tracking app with no way to opt out.

There is one simple way to opt out. Leave your phone in your room while you run an off-campus errand. I don't see where they are requiring you to carry your phone at all times-Obviously, that will be coming as some point.
Admittedly, college age kids can't imagine a phone being farther than arms reach away so they might not come up with this work-around.
