Albion college has told students that they can't leave campus this fall without permission and they will be tracked with a phone tracking app with no way to opt out.
>>>"In addition to having to install the app, students were told they are not allowed to leave campus for the duration of the semester without permission over fears that contact with the wider community might bring the virus back to campus.
If a student leaves campus without permission, the app will alert the school, and the student’s ID card will be locked and access to campus buildings will be revoked, according to an email to students, seen by TechCrunch."<<<<
There is one simple way to opt out. Leave your phone in your room while you run an off-campus errand. I don't see where they are requiring you to carry your phone at all times-Obviously, that will be coming as some point.
Admittedly, college age kids can't imagine a phone being farther than arms reach away so they might not come up with this work-around.

(1) I'm taping my watch until the title of this thread says what you probably intended.

(2) I wouldn't have a problem with such an app. In light of my phone, though, the school might. --Bob

It is a standing joke with some neighbors here-how many of us have flip phones.
