RIP Biskit

Biskit crossed over the Rainbow Bridge sometime while I was at work last night. While his passing was quite sudden, it wasn't really a total surprise either. He had been dealing with some kind of issue since late last year that the vet tried unsuccessfully several times to diagnose through blood tests. Though he carried on and otherwise seemed fine... until yesterday, when he was strangely not as vocal as usual about being wanting to be fed, and picked at his food more than he ate it. Though I assured myself I was reading too much into it, I had a bad gut feeling I would find what I found this morning....
Today marked exactly nine and a half years since I brought Biskit (nee Xerxes) home from the vet's stash of feline rescues, five days after Spilly crossed. He was believed to be a full year old at the time, so Biskit was just ten. While it was a fuller life than Spilly got to live, I have that horrible feeling like last time that one of my beloved pets got cheated again...
And of course, Ody finds himself alone for a second time...

He was celebrated every day, and no one can ask for more.

Any words I can offer always seem inadequate in times like these but nonetheless, he was loved, fed, had good shelter and did not have to battle on a daily basis to stay safe. Not much more that a cat could ask for,
I understand, my friend, I understand.

Mr. little, I know that you will miss Biskit very much, so I am very sorry. I'm not worried about Biskit, though, because I am certain that he already has met Annie's big sis Tigger, who has a job as a helper at The Bridge, and my late little sis BeBe, who loves cats, and cats love her. They will be best friens forever, in a place where "forever" really, really means it.

Oh, lb. I am so sorry.
He was well-loved. That is the one thing we can do for our pets. And you did it. You provided a good life that he might not have had otherwise.
Sending hugs and scritches for Ody.

Oh Beast. I am so sorry. Everyone has said what I would say. Biskit looked like Lucky the black cat, maybe they're already palin' around.
I know your heart is broken and Ody is sad (they know these things).

I’m really sorry about Biskit. Where did the years go? I know you & Ody miss him terribly. Check out the humane society as they always have great kittens.
