Translation: They still have a lot of "Washington Football Team" gear they want to unload. They don't want to be stuck with it like the people who made these spiffy caps:

More like they haven't yet bargained down the trademark squatter on his price to sell the name to Snyder that he really wants.

I'm pretty sure there are similar caps for the low, low price of 28 for $3.

From Twitter:

The Washington Football Team has reportedly narrowed their list of potential names down to 3 options, per the team's "Making the Brand" series.

Their finalists come from these eight:

- Armada
- Presidents
- Brigade
- RedHogs
- Commanders
- RedWolves
- Defenders
- WFT

Funny how the CFL handled it without a lot of hoopla, changing the Edmonton Eskimos to the Elks during the extended offseason. They even get to keep the old EE logo, although their helmets sport elk antlers this year.

I've decided that the drip-drip-drip seems timed to be released whenever Dan Snyder has some bad publicity, so as to distract.

The approval rating on that one is pretty low with me.

Democrats would object. It would have to be purple wolves.

Howzabout the Admirals?

https://ftw.usatoday.com/2022/01/washin ... e-admirals

Might be a misdirect; then again, this sprung up the day after they had the broken railing incident, so perhaps this entire bit of publicity is another attempt to change the subject.

Or they could call themselves the Washington Football Generals to distinguish themselves from the Harlem Globetrotters' eternal foil. There's historical precedent for that as well. When the baseball team still played in New York, the football team called itself the New York Football Giants.

I believe they still answer the phone that way if you call their corporate offices. --Bob

Looks like it might be The Admirals, according to Boomer Esiason (different source than above).

I can just see next year's headlines:

Cowboys Sink Admirals

Start an over/under on how many "Admirals" losses it will take before we start seeing Titanic imagery.

Just how many Admirals had anything to do with the Titanic?

About the same as the number of elephants and donkeys that have anything to do with football or soccer.
