SCOTUS rules against Trump's attempt to refuse the disclosure of his financial records

What they ruled was that there was no presidential privilege. That puts him on the same level as an ordinary citizen. A lower court will now have to rule if the subpoena is valid.

The ruling has limited practical effect for now, since Trump is free to raise any specific objections he has to this particular subpoena. Don't expect a final decision or release of any records before Trump's term ends in January.
There were two separate cases, one involving a NY state court subpoena and the other a House subpoena. In both cases, the Court ruled that Trump had no absolute immunity, but there will be extensive additional lower Court proceedings before any records are released (expect the Supreme Court to rule on both of these cases again).
