Legendary longtime coach at Auburn University, and a major player in making the Iron Bowl an on-campus affair, rather than playing them at Birmingham's Legion Field. Although recently testing positive for COVID-19, the true cause was most likely kidney issues, which he had been suffering with for a long time. Age 80.

That's open to question. Lots of people, even older people, live with kidney problems for a long time. On the other hand, there are a number of healthy people with COVID-19 who have later developed heart or kidney problems. Obviously someone with a pre-existing condition would be even more at risk.
