You did so good helping us win (about $7) on BigBrown in the Derby, we want your opinion for the Preakness.

If you like Big Brown, what's your opinion on wheeling on him?

All input appreciated.

Given that the Preakness Field appears to be all or nearly all newcomers it suggests that Derby owners/trainers think Big Brown is the hands down class of the field. It certainly looked that way!

But I don't know enough about the rest of the field to know who to pick to finish second. If you know enough to have a sense of which horses to put in your box to place with him it would certainly seem to be a reasonable bet. Or at least as reasonable as a bet on a horse race can be!

Except that lots of people will likely be doing the same so still may not give you much odds. Unless perhaps you have at least one real long shot in your box.

Thanks, Tan!

Big Brown it is, no wheel.

Maybe we'll win $12 this time!

Last report I heard had Big Brown going off as something like a 1-5 favorite. To win $12 you would have to bet about $10...

You could have won $11.60 (or thereabouts) by putting your $2 on Denis of Cork to show in the Derby. He provided the biggest payday of that race.

Gayego is the only horse from the Derby (besides Big Brown) whose name I recognize in the Preakness field.

The only lousy race Gayego's run in his career was the Derby.

Ichabad Crane has won three of four starts, including the Tesio, which is the traditional warmup for the Preakness.

You might want to look into a couple of boxed exacta or trifecta bets instead of a straight-up bet on Big Brown.

Editing to say that you should be betting Big Brown as one of your horses in the boxed exacta or trifecta.

So, pretty much what tan said! :D
