He decides to call him.
Spoiler
"Phone a Friend results": Ike reads the four choices including the letter choices. Ike's dad manages to say "dash dash dash, dot dot dot, dash dash dash" just before the time runs out.
Since Dad said "A" and Dave said "C", Ike opts for the 50:50.
Spoiler

Probably more because the contestant is playing for a charity, but this is one of the times that I would cry foul on the show, and potentially demand that Barinholz get another chance, with his 50-50 restored.

Barinholz's Dad did not say "A". He said a choice that was not available -- dot-dot-dot, dash-dash-dash, dot-dot-dot, dash-dash-dash.

If the show had correctly relayed what the dad said, or at least not allowed Kimmel to mis-state that the dad said dash-dash-dash, dot-dot-dot, dash-dash-dash, Barinholz may have been able to discern that his dad remembered that SOS in morse code starts with 3 dots.

Having the 50-50 for the last question might have made it interesting to see if Barinholz would remember West Side Story if West was left along with any other choice but East.

Also, SOS question really is not that long of a question for a PAF. "What is morse code for SOS?", and then read answers by saying "three dots" rather than dot-dot-dot. Better, if you just used "Phone Google" like contestants in the old days, you do not even have to read the answers.

I have to say that although Ike was introduced as a comedian he took the game more seriously than the other celebrities thus far.

Never heard of the show, so I'd ask the host.

I was pretty sure that Ike's dad would get this, but seemed to be confused by the choices.

No clue, but since I still have PAF and 50:50 I'd use them, with 50:50 first.
