Maybe it isn't a sweeps week attempt to have a few more big winners than usual (not that it would take many to be more than usual) since it is hard to know if they taped these shows knowing they would air during sweeps but another run to 25K with no problem is certainly unusual for me.

Typically I get hung up on at least one in the 8K-25K range, if not all 3.

We all taped in October, and at least for me they told me April 17th as the original air date. So I'm guessing it was at some point after the taping that they decided to move us to sweeps.

Not too often when the same question is valued greater in Syndi than a prime-time Millionaire winner stack.

It turns out that she's living paycheck to paycheck and even $1K means a lot.

I absolutely love this show, probably because I identify with the characters.

Bettendorf and Davenport, IA and Moline and Rock Island, IL (our Corps District has a field office in Rock Island).

It's nihil obstat® for me and a shame that Janelle couldn't have gone farther.

Who Wants To Be a Millionaire: The Colony's Janelle Newland goes after the big bucks today, and she's not the last North Texan we'll see during the next couple of weeks.
Oooooh, she's not? Who else? Who else? :)

well, with National Train Day and the Quad Cities in this thread....

I will remind of the legendary Rock Island Line. Now defunct for over 25 years, along with the Milwaukee Road. "The Rock" was one of three important passenger roads not to join Amtrak in the early seventies. It is said this was due to the absence of money for the one-time "capital" payment to join the new Corporation.

There were two others in the contiguous states, Southern, and DRGW (The Rio Grande), both of which were at least in part motivated by the considerable publicity and advertising value occasioned by their continued quality service. (Santa Fe IIRC took its time but joined, and Alaska Railroad is in a separate category.

As for "The Rock"?

Well, just look at "The Peoria Rocket" and "The Quad Cities Rocket:" circa 1978....:

I used this material -no pictures though - as a ? for FNGD at one time, but I ain't been smart enough to keep a file.

Also, intriguingly enough, in searching for the pix now I stumble on a rail hobby bored using the same software as this one..
