The New Celebrity Millionaire

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Wed Apr 08, 2020 9:18 pm

As bad as I thought it would be.

To make matters worse, each celebrity gets to bring a friend who is "the smartest person you know." Eric Stonestreet picked a writer from his show and Will Forte picked his father. The presence of the friend slows the pace down enormously as you get two people agonizing their way through easy questions and cracking unfunny jokes instead of one. Plus, there were no history, science, literature or other similar hard category questions and almost exclusively pop culture questions (including two high level questions to Eric Stonestreet about Oscar winning movies).

Monday night's show, which was a documentary about the history of the show featuring interviews with past winners and Regis Philbin, was far more entertaining.

Correction: Only one Oscar winning movie question. It just felt like more.

It's not on for another half hour here. No spoilers, please.

I am glad that I did not bother watching this celebrity edition. It sounds like nothing but a mockery of the original.
I felt the change

There is this thread, a general thread, titled "I'm finding WWTBAM with Kimmel.." and contestant-specific threads. If you can't avoid spoilers by not clicking on those clearly-titled threads, you are dumber than you've previously let on.

It took you two whole weeks and three broadcasts of the show to come up with that putdown. You're slipping.

If you think I was pondering that response for two weeks, you are dumber than you've previously let on.
