For once, I think Bernie Sanders picked the exact right moment to drop out. The Wisconsin primary (which the Republicans refused to either postpone or allow more time for absentee ballots) includes a general election for Supreme Court Justice that is hotly contested. The actions of the GOP, which include requiring absentee ballots to be postmarked yesterday even when many of them hadn't been mailed out yet, are a blatant attempt at yet another power grab, this time at the expense of public health. By Sanders staying in the race, more Democrats were likely to participate in the Wisconsin election. Now that this is over, there's no need for Sanders to continue what has become a hopeless quest, especially under the present circumstances.
