Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Wow! When did Jai return to the fold? Good to see you back! --Bobhf_jai wrote:No, Obama slipped th'other day and said something about having campaigned in 57 states. Don't have the exact quote, but it can probably be googled.
"Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear." Thomas Jefferson

This was going to be a post comparing SSS's chance of getting back in the hotseat with a certain candidate's chances of getting the nomination, but I couldn't find a way to say it without sounding more callous and less humorous than I intended. And I'm not about to underestimate HC.
