This saddens me. His work with The Bonzo Dog Band, Monty Python, and The Rutles, probably the most hilarious parody of The Beatles' legend ever, has elicited many a laugh from me over the years. In addition to writing the music for The Rutles, he also played the Lennon character, Ron Nasty. You can also see him as the minstrel who sings of Brave Sir Robin in Monty Python an The Holy Grail.
