Happy Anniversary Ronnnnn!!!!!!

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Sat May 10, 2008 6:52 am

You made the mistake of posting a recipe that helped make you part of Bored history 5 years ago today.....

Subject: Ronn's BBQ Pork Ribs

These are the ONLY ribs I will eat for BBQ Pork Ribs ! Are you tired of almost
breaking your teeth to enjoy some juicy, BBQ ribs ? I know I was until 1979
when I got this recipe from a co-worker and it couldn't be easier!! Take
a 'slab' of ribs (I prefer pork) and place them meat side down in a baking
dish. Pour 1/2 cps. cooking oil and 1 can of beer over meat and almost fill,
covering ribs, with water. Put in pre-heated 300 degree oven for 3 hours. Take
out and drain all the water, except just enough to cover bottom of pan. Turn
up oven to 350, cover ribs with your fav. BBQ sauce and cook for 20 mins.
Turn, if you can as they will be VERY tender and repeat the BBQ step and
serve. They melt in your mouth and everyone will want the recipe! You can't
get any easier than this for the BEST ribs you've ever had !!

Sorry, Ace--Ronn handles the ribs. I'll handle the balls. Let me get back to

They were very tender, but even though I used half as much oil as the recipe
called for, when I turned up the heat the oil spattered. I had planned on
finishing the ribs outside on the grill instead of in the oven but it started
raining. Maybe next time I'll just rub the ribs with a little oil instead of
pouring it over and go from there.

I found my recipe for peanut butter balls and it tells you to handle them with
a toothpick when you dip them in chocolate and roll them in whatever you
decorate them with, and you should refrigerate them for three hour first. So
there you go--handle them while they're cold, with a toothpick.

I met this guy.

I met him at a seminar.

Everyone wears names tags at this seminar.

The first name is large print, the last name is small print.

His name is Davidd.

I asked if it was a misprint.

He was not amused.

I called him Davidede.

His mother asked me to stop.

I did.

He still dislikes me.

Yes - his mother. I think she took responsibility for adding the extra D. He was a grown man then too.

It was a Landmark Education seminar.

They were both in the seminar.

It might have been "Living Passionately" or "Creativity", I can't remember.

Remember when we raided the General Hospital Bored. They were still trying to get rid of BDM and harv months later (The Morlock invasion was our karmic payback for that, I'm convinced).

That was a classic.

He was great because he finally allowed himself to have the context to hear it as something other than cruelty or rudeness or dumping on him.

That is close to impossible for most.

I don't buy that he was 'punking' you - I do think he said that to save face, but still, he stopped hearing MBFFB the way he did when he first read him.

I didn't buy it either.

The funny thing was that after GD dropped it, auditioneer was the one who suddenly got a burr up his butt and drug the discussion out days longer than it should have....

I don't think he was. Bob or Marley (Not Bob Marley) or someone who tracks the audition list would probably know better than me, but as I recall he posted normally up until he blew his top in that thread....

This reminded me of the DiBello thread for some reason, of which I wasn't one of the ones to dump on him because it took me so long to figure out the guy was some kind of kook and deserved the grilling he got from us....

I don't have any notes about him in my (wholy inadequate, when compared against yours) lists. But I mostly kept track of people treading water in the Contestant Player Pool. Bob Many Numbers keeps the exhaustive audition lists.

Anyway, I believed greyhound_dude's explanation that it was all a punk.

I did catch on to DiBello, at least. It might have been easier for me, as an active auditioner, because I had that George Baily shakes Mr. Potter's slimy hand moment.

The # of my first post was 66224

The # of walhal's infamous last post was 94789

The # of the post I announced my audition callback in was 129564

The # of the post I used for the first Love Boat rankings, a thread wihich I used the entire year and a half we were there, was 738.

I should know the # of the post in which I first said "Green is Good", but I'm having a bit of a brain cramp (I think it was 95245 or something in that neighborhood).....
