Tom Brady applied to trademark the name "Tom Terrific." The application was refused on the obvious ground that there's already a Tom Terrific, and it's not him. I can't believe he even made the request. --Bob

He rarely gets called "Tom Terrific" around New England. His most common nickname is TB12, which is also the name of his workout method and product line.
Others NFL fans have more colorful nicknames for him and the franchise.
