Nice piece on CNN about the impact that Millionaire had on television landscape and the degree of risk that producer Michael Davies assumed.

I thought it was an interesting article - I'm not sure that just mentioning that WWTBAM helped spawn the idea of reality TV and one of the shows listed was The Apprentice, and as a result it might have helped get him elected president is a dig. If it had said that that was an unfortunate consequence, or anyone was quoted as saying that if they had know that would be the outcome.... then I would agree that would be a dig. Otherwise, I'm not sure what offended you or thought was pathetic about the reference.

The game show was always "a place for all kinds of different people," he added. In other words, contestants were cast neither for looks nor a nasty capacity to play the "villain."
Really? That was only for the first two seasons. Then after that they abandoned the non-cast contestant pool and cast everyone via auditions.

Wow. CNN mentions that The Apprentice and other reality shows were an offshoot of Millionaire and you consider that a dig on Trump. How pathetic.

Not that it's fair to draw a direct line from "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" to Trump's election as President of the United States.
Don't blame Davies, or us, please!
"The President was never on 'Millionaire,' " Davies said, wryly, as though the question has come up before. The game show was always "a place for all kinds of different people," he added. In other words, contestants were cast neither for looks nor a nasty capacity to play the "villain."
"The point of the show was very unifying," Davies says. "There was never any confrontation."
And out of all the reality shows ever, how does trump come into the discussion except for CNN TSD? That's what's pathetic.
Clang, clang, clang went the
Troll-ies.

Well, let's see. How does Trump come up? He's by far the most famous person ever to be associated with a reality show, that's how. People talk about Clinton's appearance on the Arsenio Hall show for the same reason.
And according to your typically warped logic, CNN could be claiming that Trump got the gig on The Apprentice (or the Presidency) because of his good looks. You're convinced that everyone is out to get Trump all the time. That's called paranoia. It's another trait you share with him.
