The fact that, of all of McConnell’s opponents, his campaign staff finds a cardboard cutout of a woman of color and pretends to harass it is at least suspicious. But who knows, maybe there were no cardboard Bidens on sale. Multiple races and genders are included in the second photo, but it’s still in bad taste the day after two mass murders.

That said, the Democrats know how to dish it out too:

Mitch McConnell is reported to have broken his shoulder. Rumor has it he tripped over that pesky old copy of the Constitution that he tossed aside years ago.

The tombstone photo wasn't intended as a statement about McConnell's racism or sexism as much as a general commentary about his utter lack of concern for people's suffering, taste, and tact. However, I'm sure that if some liberal group displayed a "cemetery" with "tombstones" saying RIP Trump and RIP McConnell, you and your right wing buddies would be screaming to high heaven and threatening to call the Secret Service. It's easy to see where those young McConnell staffers got their inspiration.

As for the AOC picture, it does show how McConnell and his supporters have evolved over the years. Just think, six years ago at his last re-election campaign, they'd have been posing with a cardboard cutout of Obama with a noose around his neck. And let's not forget the caption on the AOC post in which the poster said how much he'd like to "break me off a piece of that."

I don't suppose you actually looked at McConnell's twitter account to verify this, did you? The image was the penultimate (of many) posted from their #FancyFarm139 event, whatever that is. It was posted as the story from El Paso was still unfolding. They certainly had the tombstones prepared well beforehand. 2 posts after this one, McConnell comments on the El Paso tragedy. The Ohio shootings happened later that night, well after this image was posted. When you said, "Posted after the weekend shootings," you were clearly wrong about the second one and possibly wrong about the first one, too.

I stand corrected. The tweet was posted 6-7 hours after the El Paso shooting and before the Dayton shooting. It remained up on McConnell's twitter feed until at least 2:30 pm the next day, well after the Dayton shootings.

That makes it soooooo much less offensive and tasteless.

As a Kentuckian and constituent of Senator McConnell I can say that he is not in the same category as, say, Lindsey Graham, with respect to being a "fan" of the president, but as a Republican he defends the president on almost every issue.
