Not to interrupt the gus hunt or anything ...
BD had a wedding shower last night at the school where she teaches. Held at one of the head teacher's homes nearby, in combination with a baby shower for another teacher. Came home with tons of loot. Much was from her registries, but some nice stuff came from original ideas. FSIL will have to learn to like lobster, because one group gave BD a lobster pot, a lobster cookbook, a serving platter shaped like a scallop shell and a set of lobster forks/crackers/dipping bowls. GW and I have been joking that we should renew our vows for our upcoming 30th and get in on this registry bit ourselves to replace our older kitchen items.
During the event, nearly all the other teachers came up to GW and extolled BD's virtues as a teacher. There is no doubt that she will be missed at the school. If the married couple end up in this area once FSIL's enlistment is over, I'd bet the school would take her back in an instant, even if they have to create a position for her. The recommendations she has received from the lead teachers are glowing to the point of being able to create shadows. I just hope there are job openings out in CA.
