For a century, scientists defined mass based on standard weights. The master 1 kg weight was in Paris, and other nations had their own in various sizes. Then the kilogram was redefined based on Planck's constant. What to do with the old weights? New Zealand had a splendid idea. Hammer thrower (and Princeton alumna) Julia Ratcliffe tossed it 77.28952 meters away.
