Anyone ever get a strange $50 charge from them on your credit card with no identifying purchase so you have to cancel your card and get a new one due to possible fraud?
Asking for moi.

Are you sure this isn't the monthly fee from one of the porn sites you joined for the 30-day free trial and then forgot to unsubscribe?

Sorry this happened to you.
I had someone try to use my card to buy hockey tickets, which the bank's algorithm rightly knew was not me, and they cancelled it. They overnighted the new card and I got it lesss than 24 hours after the text asking if this was me spending on the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
It was as painless as possible, though I guess it helps to have a goofy name that no one tries to steal, so this is the first time.

We've had cards compromised before but were notified. This was just weird.

No algorithm needed. Any purchase of hockey tickets on my cards is fraud.

That's what I was trying to say on mine as well. I dislike hockey more than any sport. It's cold in there and I can't see the puck.

I was rightly spotlighted as not having gone on a shopping spree in Atlanta (I live near Boston), but no way did Mastercard overnight the replacement. It took 3 days FedEx.

I only got it as fast as I did by begging that it go UPS or FedEx & that the last leg *not* be USPS. Several items I've bought online have been given to USPS for the last leg, which would be OK as I paid for cheapest shipping, except several times they pulled the "couldn't deliver" trick when I was home & waiting for my new clothes, & I then had to spend hours on the phone trying to get a guarantee they'd try again. I *never* have set up "signature needed".
