What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

One of the scariest articles I have ever read.
Google (and others) have plans to eliminate problem mosquitoes around the world. Ecology be damned-full speed ahead.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features ... t=business
The completely laughable pull quote.
>>>"It’s unclear what would happen if the world’s disease-causing mosquitoes were done away with. The ecological role that mosquitoes play hasn’t been thoroughly studied, though some scientists suggest we might be just fine without them.<<<<
Well, I guess if some scientists SUGGEST that we MIGHT be fine without them-Things will be just hunky-dory. You gotta love the hard rigorous scientific method on display.
Also, don't give me any guff that they are just going after one species in California. It is obviously scaleable and will be applied in other places-Hence the Bill Gates/Malaria thing.
Does anyone think these little mad scientist things will stop with mosquitoes?
