Maybe they haven't won much ON the court in recent years, but this is a big win in the Compassionate Humanity League:

I have this story open right now and thought about it before I opened your link.
Another Phoenix team, the Phoenix Rising (football) has also invited him to be their guests at a game. I think he is supposed to go this Friday.

Pretty cool of the Suns.
...but
We’re also prepared to shame the parents of the 32 children who did not show up.
I'd be interested in knowing how the invites were sent out and how they was worded. I find it really hard to believe that not 1 of 32 kids showed up if the invitations were sent how a week ahead of time, were clear as to when and where, and if the kid (or maybe it's mom) is not a complete dick. I find it very hard to believe.

I've heard of quite a few similar stories over the years.

Read some of the comments in the article I read. An unbelievable number of people are DEFENDING the blow-off and the lack of notification.
I don't have difficulty believing it's all about the rise of selfishness and the demise of etiquette and common courtesy.
One way to send a message, though the kid's mom is probably above this, is to invite all 32 to go the Suns game with him and then stand them up. Let them see how it feels...
