When she said, in a Boston Globe article this summer (article said none of the places she's worked gave her points for Native ancestry) that "only tribes can decide who's a member" I figured she'd already had the DNA tests done herself.

They are just people who for whatever reason want to have a position of power and prestige and mounted a campaign, created a public image and attracted enough voters and money to get themselves elected. Warren lied about her ancestry to obtain a personal advantage. trump did not originate the nickname 'Pocohontas' but he uses it often to remind people of that. I am pretty certain that if she posted on this board, she would be a female version of bob-tel. Arrogant, self-righteous and self-serving. Based on the lambasting he gets for everything he says or does, I think Warren is getting off easy.

And there were innocent bystanders on both sides. or neither side. He was NOT referring to the scum who showed up. He has specifically and repeatedly condemned all white supremacists and KKK. I understand that you may have a difficult time remembering all your incorrect statements. After a while, they just kind of blend together.

And that corresponds with the story that Warren has always told about her family history, based on family genealogical records and anecdotes that had been passed down. She never attempted to use her status to gain preferential treatment at any time, which was the most frequently bandied about claim against her.

What's really at issue here is that Republicans took a family history anecdote, misrepresented that into an intentional lie to gain an employment advantage, demanded that Warren prove that her claim was true (like a certain former President of the United States whom Donald Trump accused for five years as being from Kenya), and then, when Warren does deliver the proof, try to pooh pooh it as a non-existent issue.
