all in a regular day at my library! Cool, huh? I had a blast visiting with the re-enactors who also do WWII, Middle Ages and Colonial Days. Lunch was served in the library with the staff and our guests, so it was quite a lively day. Abe Lincoln was sitting with Confederate soldiers and Harriet Tubman was sitting with Lee.
I wanted to break out into Kumbaye!

she was quite the harlot. She even showed us her bloomers!
I learned a little factoid Friday. She acquired her home in New York State with the help of Seward and she planted apple trees all around it. This was because she received a severe beating from the overseer for taking a bite of one when she was little because she was so hungry. She had the kids in tears.

It was great to see the visual and tactile learners totally engrossed along side the kids who were just soaking everything up. they had kids dressed as young drummer boys, counting out the family loss, as well as families divided by the war. It was truly an amazing experience.
