This piece was written by a current senior official of the Administration. It's anonymous (for reasons that will be obvious once you read it) by the New York Times (which published the piece) knows the author's identity. --Bob

I'm guessing, by the way, that the piece's author will reveal himself or herself once Donny's Administration finally comes to an end. Any guesses who wrote it? I'm guessing Sessions. --Bob

I will say, though, that David Frum has a point. --Bob

Oh no, I doubt it's anyone at that level. I wish it was though. I'm guessing it's a vice-something at State or Justice.

Another unprecedented occurrence on a day full of them: Trump agrees with BJ!
Washington Post wrote:Trump reacted to the column with “volcanic” anger and was “absolutely livid” over what he considered a treasonous act of disloyalty and told confidants he suspects the official works on national security issues or in the Justice Department, according to two people familiar with his private discussions.
More excerpts from the Post article:
Washington Post wrote:Startled aides canceled meetings and huddled behind closed doors to strategize a response. Aides were analyzing language patterns to try to discern the author’s identity or at a minimum the part of the administration where the author works.

The phrase “The sleeper cells have awoken” circulated on text messages among aides and outside allies.

“This is what all of us have understood to be the situation from Day One,” Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) told reporters. He added, “That’s why I think all of us encourage the good people around the president to stay.”

At any one time, there are at least a hundred people who could be considered a "senior official" in an administration, so it's tough to pinpoint who wrote this piece as a matter of national security--because it is, after all, in the interest of national security that L. Don Hubbard and his cult of scientologists be booted out of the government in 2019. It was obviously written by somebody who has a heart and a soul, so that eliminates Mike Pence, Jeff Sessions, Steve Mnuchin, Ben Carson, Kellyanne Conway, Stephen Miller, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Jared Kushner.

My money is on John Kelly. He has already been on record as calling Drumpf an "idiot". My second choice is James Mattis, who I am hoping will live up to his "Mad Dog" moniker by not taking BS from anybody--especially Drumpf. Oh, please let it be Mattis! That would make a lot of these "pro-military Republican" heads explode!

Donald Trump Twitter 9-6-18 wrote:Kim Jong Un of North Korea proclaims “unwavering faith in President Trump.” Thank you to Chairman Kim. We will get it done together!
Sometimes, Trump's tweets need no commentary whatsoever. This is one of those times.

National wires editor who sits next to me, when asked, said she thinks the author is John Bolton. She cited specific language in the piece that she thinks fits his tone, said he has the right amount of sneaky available, said he has the old-school conservative stances, and said he has experience writing op-ed pieces for the NYT (not that this is a necessary element, just another mild argument in his favor).

I just wanted to get that on record in case she is right, so she can get the points.
