Administrator Question Fifty Character Limit

I keep getting an error message when I create a topic title if I have too many characters. This happened just now with my Security Clearance post (I had to reword the title I originally tried) and when I replied to the Montana Green Party thread (I had to lop off a few letters in the title).
Is anyone else having this problem? I didn't used to have it and I've had some wordy titles in the past (although some on this Bored probably wish my posts were shorter period).

It won't let me add a 51st character to the topic title (I remember it doing this when I was doing the rankings regulalry, so it's nothing new). And when I reply to a 50 character topic thread, it just cuts off the end of the topic to add the "Re:" There is nothing I can find in the Admin Control panel to adjust the topic character limit, so it must be hardwired into the Bored interface. I don't get any error messages, though...
