Donald Trump 8/31/20 wrote:[Cops] can do 10,000 great acts, which is what they do, and one bad apple – or a choker, you know, a choker, they choke – shooting the guy in the back many times. ... But they choke, just like in a golf tournament, they miss a 3-foot putt.
Leaving aside Trump's repeated use of the word "choke" following George Floyd's death, here's the analogy: Seven bullets in the back = One short missed putt. And I thought Spock was bad comparing the shooting to an upset diner. By the way, even Laura Ingraham realized that Trump had put his foot in his mouth big time and tried to walk it back but Trump would have none of it.

Sometimes, the people at Fox News are psychic.
Fox and Friends 8/15/20 wrote:Guinness Book of Records [breaker] for boat parades. The Spanish Armada's got nothing on Trump supporters down there.
Turns out that the boat parade had quite a bit in common with the Spanish Armada:

At Least 4 Boats Sink During ‘Trump Boat Parade’ in Texas, Officials Say
The authorities rescued numerous people from the waters of Lake Travis in Texas on Saturday after at least four boats sank at an event promoted as a Trump Boat Parade, officials said.... The number of boats participating in the gathering was not immediately clear. [Sheriff's Dept. spokesperson] Ms. Dark said there were “too many variables” to say for sure what exactly happened. “We had an exceptional number of boats on the lake today,” she said. “When they all started moving at the same time, it generated significant waves.” With winds around 10 miles an hour, and gusting to as much as 15 m.p.h., the weather conditions in and around the lake most likely would not have caused the boats to sink.
So, let's sum up. Lots of boats on the water too close too each other going very fast and ignoring safety protocols for gatherings of this size. Spanish Armada II results.

I designed this 45 flag. The lines are a bit crooked but you get the idea. If I sew one and send it to him, will he fly it over the White House?

I realize that it is the only arrow in your quiver, but after 20 plus years, your never-ending schtick that your Bored political opponents are racist gets a little tiresome and predictable and boring.

This isn't a joke, it's not a misstatement, and it's not a slip of the tongue. This is Donny telling us in so many words that if the verdict of the American people is against him, he will seek to subvert that verdict.

He already has legal teams and lobbyists in place for a two-pronged strategy: (1) Sow so much chaos into the process as to prevent states from certifying their votes by the statutory safe harbor, and then (2) have gerrymandered Republican Legislatures take the decision away from the people and award their electoral votes to Donny.

If that happens, I will fight for my country. And I don't just mean on the Internet. --Bob

As this is at least the second time that Bob has been seen itching for a Civil War here on the Bored, I like to think of him as the Bored version of the South Carolina fire-eaters prior to the 1861-1865 unpleasantness.

However, contrary to his assertions that he would fight in the real world; ie off the internet, I really doubt that he would get his hands dirty in any way.

The New York Times has obtained Donny's tax information reaching back over two decades.

Donny paid $750 in federal income taxes in 2016. He paid $750 in federal income taxes in 2017. He's been losing money, hand over fist, for decades. It looks like he owes the IRS tens of millions of dollars because he claimed a refund that he wasn't entitled to. --Bob

I really wonder at this point if this will make any difference. The numbers in the race don't really change. They didn't when the losers and suckers report came out. They didn' when the Woodward revelations came out. They probably won't here. The people who believe in Trump or are willing to accept his many foibles in exchange for whatever legislative or judicial gains they get won't care.

The good news is that with five weeks left Trump needs to move the needle and he's running out of time (and persuadable voters). In my view, the only thing that could make a difference is if Biden appears completely out of it during the debate.

Trump Got ‘Unusual’ Payments From Vegas Hotel in 2016, NYT Says
Donald Trump received $21 million in “highly unusual” payments from a Nevada hotel in 2016 as his presidential campaign was struggling for cash, the New York Times reported.

Tax records recently obtained by the newspaper show a series of transactions that flowed to the president from a hotel he owns in Las Vegas with casino mogul Phil Ruffin, at a time his campaign had as little as $1.3 million in the bank, according to the report published on Friday. The Times said experts characterized the payments as unusual.

Lindsey Graham questioning Amy Coney Barrett 10/14/20 wrote:You're not aware of any effort to go back to the good old days of segregation by a legislative body, is that correct?
Lindsey must really want to lose this election. He keeps handing his opponent ready-made sound bites. (Although, to be fair, a certain portion of Lindsey's core constituency probably agrees with his sentiments.)
