Right in the middle, they just want, no more testing, and on a much lesser problem than the problem that we have, obviously, with respect to-- this is the worst thing that's happened since probably 1917.
Trump is right in one regard. The coronavirus was much less of a problem when Biden and Obama left office than it is now because it didn't exist for three more years.
The rest of what he said is just as bad:
But now we are-- we test more than anybody by far. And when you test, you create cases. So we've created cases.

I can tell you some countries, they test when somebody walks into a hospital sick or walks into maybe a doctor's office, but usually a hospital. That's the testing they do, so they don't have cases, whereas we do. We have all of these cases.

So you know, it's a double edged sword. At the same time, we have the lowest mortality or just about the lowest mortality in the world. We're doing a great job. We're doing very well with vaccines, and we're doing very, very well with therapeutics, and I think we're going to have some very good information coming out soon.

But we have the best and certainly the biggest, by far the biggest testing program anywhere in the world. If you tested China or Russia or any of the larger countries, of you tested India, as an example, the way we test, you'd see numbers that would be very surprising. Brazil, too. You know, Brazil is going through a big problem, but they don't do testing like we do.

So we do the testing, and by doing the testing, we have tremendous numbers of cases. If we didn't do the-- as an example, we've done 45 million tests. If we did half that number, you'd have half the cases, probably, around that number. If we did another half of that, you'd have half the numbers. Everyone would be saying, oh, we're doing so well on cases.

But when I see it reported-- and [? tonight ?] you can check me out on this-- I mean, they always talk about-- they're always talking about cases, the number of cases. Well, it is a big factor that we do-- we have a lot of cases, because we have a lot of testing, far more than any other country in the world. And it's also the best testing.
What vaccines?

We have the second-worst mortality rate: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality

Did "and on a much lesser problem than the problem that we have" NOT make it clear to you that he was NOT talking about the Coronavirus?

Trump to Deploy 150 Secret Paramilitary Police Officers to Streets of Chicago to ‘Grab’ Americans Who ‘Hate Our Country’

https://www.thenewcivilrightsmovement.c ... r-country/

150 troops from agencies under the DHS umbrella, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will be deployed onto the streets of Chicago this week, the Chicago Tribune reports.

“We don’t need federal agents without any insignia taking people off the streets and holding them, I think, unlawfully,” Mayor Lori Lightfoot said at a press conference Monday morning.

Also Monday, President Donald Trump praised the federal officers who have thrown a portion of Portland into chaos, tear-gassing demonstrators including hundreds of sunflower-wielding moms who built a human shield to protect the BLM protestors. All were gassed over the weekend.

“We’re going to have more federal law enforcement, that I can tell you, in Portland they’ve been there three days, and they’ve really done a fantastic job in a very short period of time, no problem,” Trump told reporters from the Oval Office.

“They grab ’em, a lot of people in jail, their leaders – these are anarchists, these are not protestors,” Trump lied.

(Political beliefs or affiliations should not determine how law enforcement officers treat alleged suspects.)

“People say ‘protestors’ – these people are anarchists,” Trump claimed. “These are people that hate our country, and we’re not going to let it go forward.”

Interesting wording that. Yeah, the federal officers are the ones throwing Portland into chaos.

The people smashing windows, starting fires and lobbing mortar type fireworks at the police are totally innocent.

50 days of violent protests in Portland and counting.

FWIW-I think it is funny as hell that the most violent and long-lived protests are in Portland and Seattle-2 of the most liberal cities in the country-they are eating their own base.

Grab the popcorn and a comfy chair and watch the show.

Like the guy who got shot in the head, suffering a skull fracture, when all he was doing was carrying a large speaker with both hands above his head. Speakers are not weapons. Unless you fear the truth.

We have unidentifiable people grabbing people and stuffing them into unmarked cars without probable cause for arrest. That should scare the shit out of anyone who cares about American values (as opposed to simply rooting for their team to win, no matter what the cost). So I guess I understand why you're merely amused by the spectacle. --Bob

And now the circus moves on to Chicago and Albuquerque. At least, in Portland, Trump had some colorable justification of the grounds of protecting federal property (the courthouses and other federal buildings), although whether this number of storm troopers are required is a big question mark.

But there is no such justification in Chicago and Albuquerque where the state and local officials specifically mentioned that they don't want federal help and there is no justification under any federal law to do so. For those like Flock who complain about how much they support the Constituion, the concept of federalism seems to have completely gone out the door here.

Of course, Trump knows he's not going to win IL, OR, or NM. He's doing this to play to his supporters to show that he's the "law and order" candidate (except where Ghislaine Maxwell is concerned, there, he's the empathy candidate). Trump is counting on his troops escalating the level of violence in these cities, which seems likely, so he can claim that they are out of control under Democratic leadership.

It's interesting that he can send a surge of troops into these cities but he can't send a surge of badly needed testing supplies or funds anywhere.

Apparently, Twitter has a TTT department (Trump Trending Tweets) whose only job is to find bad things about Trump and make them trending topics.

That was my snap reaction, but would the family really welcome his presence? It would be one thing if Donny were a normal human being, but given the odds that he'd say or do something utterly inappropriate, I'm thinking I'm not very upset about this. --Bob

Trump today announced that the US is making a $765 million loan to Kodak to finance the development of Kodak Pharmaceuticals, a new division of the company that will produce some of the chemicals that are used in generic drugs that are supposedly in short supply. While this is undoubtedly good news for Kodak, which was on the verge of bankruptcy, I'm not sure how this is a good use of federal funds under the Defense Production Act, seeing that the company has no expertise in the pharmaceutical industry. They do have expertise in chemicals in general from their experience in the now pretty much defunct film and film processing industry.

I haven't heard anyone other than Trump himself weigh in on the wisdom of this, but I would think that there are better and more pressing needs that we could have used the Defense Production Act for, like the manufacture of critical protective supplies.

You can't expect Trump to read an entire article. He just waits until he hears the summary on Fox News.

Ratings for every single night of the Democratic National Convention were higher than those for the corresponding nights of the Republican National Convention. About two million more people watched Biden's acceptance speech last week than Trump's speech last night (although Trump tweeted about what great ratings he got this morning). The ratings tally nine different networks that covered both conventions.
