End Catch and Release NOW!

I can't believe the government allows people who violate the law to receive just a piece of paper and let them go with the promise that they will show up on a court date - when it is clear many do not. They are responsible for over 37,000 deaths in 2016 alone (
http://www.iihs.org/iihs/topics/t/gener ... e-overview), they are murders and rapists, although some might be good people. When stopped, they should not be released and if there are any minors with them, the minors should be immediately be removed from their parent(s) and placed in a detention center. They knew they were breaking the law and they didn't care. They knew the risk they were taking and especially having a minor with them when they were committing their crime and should face the consequences for breaking the law. It has to stop now!
Of course I'm talking about anyone caught speeding in their car.
Clearly they are a greater threat to America then folks that are so desperate that they are willing to risk everything for the possibility of being granted the privilege of contributing to the American Dream.
How anyone can make excuses for what is happening, IMO, is beyond comprehension.

Since we are dabbling in emotional arguments, I propose that people who rob banks because they are so desperately poor that they need the money to feed and clothe their innocent children be given a ticket and required to show up in court (or not).
I think these people express my viewpoint very well:

If you are so inclined to actually do some thinking for yourself, ponder why all of these people have so radically changed their positions, and why the MSM has not once pointed that out to you.
If you come up with an answer through independent thinking, without checking on the internet for any approved response that might be out there, please share it with us.

First, I posted this because I did independently think of it and had not heard this point expressed in the current debate. Also, no where in my post did I say that I advocated for open borders or abolishment of immigration laws. My point was against the often heard argument that since these people broke the law then they deserve whatever happens to them and their children. For those advocating that position, why don't they take the same stance against other illegal acts that I'm sure they themselves routinely commit (such as exceeding the speed limit - or is that not illegal?). Make the case that those trying to come to this country to make a better life is equivalent to robbing banks, and that they pose the same risks as those that do. I think a case can be made that those who speed pose a greater risk (in the aggregate) then the families that are being forcibly separated.
The punishment that is being imposed on these families is so far beyond what their 'crime' is that i can't believe you are OK with it and feel comfortable defending it. Should the Swiss have separated the Von Trapp family when they broke the law when they snuck in illegally, and would you support the idea that the Captain and Maria should have been sent back to Austria? WWII hadn't started at that point in time - explain how their situation is different then what is currently happening to many families fleeing from Central America? How many families are fleeing to the U.S. because they fear death in their own country and you think the proper response to that it to separate them from their kids and send them back - because they are just as bad as bank robbers?
IMO, I do believe that the U.S. would be better off in so many different ways by coming up with a way to let a good portion of them the ability join our society, so it is not an emotional argument but a pragmatic one - beyond that though, I think the moral argument is even more overwhelming.
