Who came up with the idea

That mens aren't allowed at baby showers? I'd like to buy him (and it's definitely a him) a drink.

I'm luxuriating in not having to attend the her-family shower in Michigan (I still have to go to MI, I just don't have to go to the shower).

Unfortunately, the Chicago peeps are more progressive and I have to go to the one here in a few weeks.

The kid better be worth it.

There's no such rule in my part of the country. I've been to many baby showers that men also have attended. The female guests even cut the guys some slack for the often inevitable "man wrap," as opposed to the cutsie pastel paper and massive ribbons that otherwise surround gifts.

In my part of the country - we don't include the men either. I think the women have decided they are no fun and won't play the stoopid games that get played.

Of course, I haven't been to a baby shower in 20 years! Maybe things have changed.

I think men should be required to attend the baby showers. There'd be way fewer babies...

I was at a baby shower just a couple months ago.

OK, it was thrown by the crew for one of my coworkers on overnights, and was held in the break room during lunch one night, so I didn't have much choice but to be there for it....

How many packages of Onesies did she open before your eyes glazed over?

Present for you in the Bat Cave...

The highlight of the event was when someone threw her boyfriend a pack of Trojans.

I have seen the light. Doesn't take much to cause hubbub around here, obviously....

Well, taken in context, I saw a new name when I arrived, saw the avatar and no indication it was an MM, and thought we were going to be offered some showtimeness. Then when I heard it was an MM and saw Roxy Music on the avatar I knew who it must be. But I don't think I'd want my son drooling on my keyboard. He'd water down the blood...

I'd have nailed who it was once I saw it was an album cover. I remember when him and TR were taking turns posting album covers in the BBBL draft room chat box one night (One of those early drafts we had that used to take days to complete), and the one I remember was a Roxy Music cover.

Plus, the email address in the profile names a former Yankee great...

The boyfriend part, not the trojan part.

I've been invited to the baby showers for two of Jeff's coworkers twice in the past few months. One was for women, one was for couples. Unless it's a close friend, I find them boring and just send a gift.
