No spoilers, but I thought it sucked and was a waste of an hour. One of those filler episodes designed to stretch the show out. I have never been one to complain about Lost and it's pacing, but that was just a waste.

"We were sort of stalling last season. We didn't know whether the mythology we constructed had to last two more seasons or seven more seasons. And that was driving us crazy because we didn't know how fast it was going to play out. "

There was enough of Evangeline Lily in skimpy outfits that I didn't notice.

The presence of Jack's father raises some more questions about just how dead these people are. He appeared to Jack during the first season as well, but that story line had pretty much been dropped until now. Since Claire and Hurley also saw dead people, this can't just be Jack's imagination.
The show did indicate how Jack fell off the wagon. And I have to feel that whatever Kate was doing had something to do with the guy whose death occurred during last season's flash forward.
Also, it doesn't appear that the smoke monster did a real good job on the mercenaries.

We now know that Jack knows that he and Claire are related and that was the story line that was in part played out last night.
I too was surprised the smoke monster was so ineffective. Of course we don't know how many of them there were to begin with....
A little slow? Yes. A complete waste? I didn't think so. YMMV.

I'm not sure that we know that Jack knows that Aaron is his nephew. it was strongly implied, but not explicitly stated.
I'm pretty sure that Christian Shephard had some connection to Hanso/Dharma/Widmore. I'm also pretty sure he's dead

Do we know that? Jack heard that Claire went off after "Dad" but he doesn't see his dad at that time--his sighting was in the flashforward.
And why is Jack not supposed to raise Aaron? Seems like a connection to that story straight from The Omen that the Australian medium was pitching to Claire to get her on Flight 815, way back in season one.
I guess they don't make smoke monsters they way they used to.
If the team from the ship was going after Ben, how is it that what's-her-name just happens to be fluent in Korean?

I think we were intended to see Jack's comment about Kate not even being related to Aaron as unintentional irony. Also, Miles sarcastically asking Sawyer if he is Claire's brother might suggest that Miles knows who her real brother is. Probably Ben does too. And is it just me, or do Kate's incisors keep getting bigger? I was guessing that her favor for Sawyer might have something to do with his daughter or his daughter's mother (whom Kate has met before)

I noticed this too, and thought it was quite bizarre. I'd think that if she lost all her teeth during whatever exploit gets them off the island, they'd have done a better job with the implants.

I was refering to the later timeline and not present time on the island but perhaps Jack still doesn't know he and Claire are half sisters and the comment was meant to be ironic. But I got the impression he knew by that later point and that he, Claire and "daddy", be he dead, alive or trapped in a time warp (it's just a jump to the left...) are going to run into one another on the island at some point.
As to his connection to the island that would be a new spin but anything is possible.
