Good luck, Shade.

(Also, that's a darn good photo of a television screen by a cell phone!)

Unless you have facts that are not in evidence, it wasn't a cell phone.

Good luck, Shade!

Good luck with the audition, Shade!

As for that ATA, did the contestant say if he was torn between those two before using the 50/50? If he didn't, it was a mistake to use the 50/50 before the ATA, since it's better to let those who are just wildy guessing divide their answers over all four choices, while those who really know (hopefully) provide a spike for the correct answer.

Looks like a pretty darn good ATA to me, relatively speaking anyway....

When was this?

Talk about the worst possible ATA result and after a 50/50.

Sheesh!

I think I would have gone with falcon as it is like the eagle and improving without DDT.

And then there all the stories about falcons builing nests in big cities.

I stand corrected. I saw words and "understood" a concept that was not present.

Thank you Audience

There was a Celebrity Week with singers. According to IMDB, Huey's appearance was on 7/24/01 and 7/26/01. That doesn't make sense, so I tried to verify against old transcripts, but couldn't find any for that week.

I could find no transcript in th eGC, but here's Dr. J's Dunks & Airballs for Huey's stack....

Huey Lewis

$2K Name of Prince's recording studio complex in Chanhassen,
Minnesota/Paisley Park--Airball. ATA. Is that supposed to be the
name of one of his songs?
$4K TV series "Beavis & Butt-head"/title characters usually watch
music videos on TV--Airball. PAF. Made the most sense snce it was
an MTV show, but let's face it, I had no way to know for sure because
I've never seen it. I couldn't risk a crash.
$8K Term "Pilates"/form of exercising--Airball. 50-50, cross
fingers, and guess. Since it was choice "B," had a 2-in-3 chance at
getting it. Never heard of it. Yet another Stack of Death.
$16K Cornucopia displayed in U.S./Thanksgiving--Rim, backboard, rim,
and in. Figured it must be the horn of plenty because "cornu"
means "horn" in Latin.
$32K Clothing designer who created Jennifer Lopez's famous green
dress for the 2000 Grammy awards/Versace--Airball. Walk.
$64K Musical instrument steel drum/originally developed on the
island of Trinidad--Airball.
$125K Animal taken off the U.S. endangered species list in 1999
after 29 years/Peregrine falcon--Clanger. Thought for sure it was
the bald eagle and would definitely have gone for it. After the 50-
50, felt sure it was the Peregrine falcon. Has there EVER been an
exact 50-50 audience split in the history of the show???
$250K Novel that never reveals its protagonist's name/Bright Lights,
Big City--Airball.

And if crossposting something from the GC that's 7 years old is a crime, shoot me now... :P

Lucky for you, there's nobody left over there to hold the gun.

I was in the audience for another episode that week -- the only time I've ever seen a taping of the show. One of the players in the episode I saw taped was Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, who tragically died in Central America a year or two later. --Bob

Gosh, you guys really push threads down fast, lol.

Sorry, I don't know when I took this picture, I actually used my digital camera to take it. So I don't know who that is, I didn't know it was a celebrity. lol
