No, that wasn’t yet public knowledge when she appeared on those shows. Her article on that experience was published significantly later. I suspect that if flock had made that connection, he would not have offered his attempted witticism. At least, I certainly hope not.

As for anyone who might try to defend the joke in light of that knowledge, understand that to some of us Jackie is more than just a name and a face on a screen. Some of us have met her in person and consider her a friend. So this isn’t just about what is or isn’t politically correct. It’s about making light of what will almost certainly be the most traumatic experience in our friend’s life. —Bob

I think the "joke" that got people upset was the one about how the two women in the picture were the only two in Hollywood who hadn't been sexually harassed.
