Hard to believe that we've gone two months into this countdown and Sir Elton hadn't shown up until now. It seems appropriate, though, that he debuts on my Top 500 with his very first Billboard Hot 100 entry.

#15. Harmony, Elton John (1973)
Boney Hall of Fame: #85

A twofer for Sir Elton in the top twenty of this half of the decade. That explains why we hadn't seen him yet. His songs are near the top. This was the B-side to "Bennie and the Jets", but has since gotten quite a bit of airplay on SIRIUS XM's '70s on 7 station.

You know the Reverend had to come up again on this list somewhere. Yes, I know that everybody else defaults to "Let's Stay Together" as their favorite Al Green song, but I'm not everybody else. This one is mine.

#13. Desperado, Linda Ronstadt (1973)

Second entry from Linda. She never released a single of her version of this Eagles hit, but I loved her version way more than the Eagles' version.

#12. Just Crazy Love, Fleetwood Mac (1973)

Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks hadn't joined the band yet, so Fleetwood Mac was still relatively unknown in America at this time. This song came from the band's eighth studio album, Mystery to Me. I just love Christine McVie's vocals on this hidden gem. This will be the first of many appearances by Fleetwood Mac.
