I ate asparagus for the first time

Last night, my mother cooked a fish dinner with rice, corn, and asparagus. I had never eaten asparagus before, but I decided to try a spear of it. It's actually not half bad. Tastes even better with lemon. So I had several spears with the rest of my dinner.
And yes, it's true: I had to go to the bathroom several times since last night's dinner and my pee smells like asparagus.

I would go beyond "not half bad" - once I tried it, I was hooked. I mean, I'll even eat the canned stuff once in a while. The best, though, is wild asparagus - my SIL has some growing near her house. M-m-good.
OTOH, I had my own "first-time" experience with food this past weekend. Limburger cheese. Everything they say is true. I tried outsmarting the system and exhaled as I took that first bite. Not bad, I thought.
I did not count on the smell lingering on my lips and my fingers. The word "stench" is pretty appropriate. It took soap, water, and a couple of beers to make everything right.
Never again. Ever.

Grilled asparagus has become a particular favorite of mine ever since I was introduced to it at a fancy restaurant (it accompanied the entree). I haven't tried it any other way, although I hear that steamed, with hollandaise sauce, is quite good.

It's too late to spare me. I've been dead for 10 years...
Oh, wait. You were talking about a vegetable. Nevermind...

I love the stuff - I do not put anything on it - not even salt.
It is not so good when it is cooked too long.

Roasted is great too.
Simply put in a baking dish with olive oil salt and pepper and cook until tender.
Yummmmmmmmmmm

I love asparagus, steamed, and then drizzles with olive oil and lemon juice and pepper.

Fresh grated Parmesan is a great addition. I bake mine in the oven with some bacon bits, olive oil, lemon juice and add the cheese just before serving.
