Lyrically Speaking - 2/2/18
Posted: Fri Feb 02, 2018 6:48 am
Today's Friday game pays tribute to everyone's favorite movie about Groundhog Day. Below are fifteen songs with lyrical snippets that you have certainly seen before in the LSWE. In fact, you saw them all in past February 2nd games, and hopefully learned from your original mistakes since you get to relive them again today. Since this week has been a part of all eleven LSWE seasons, I've had a game for every occurrence of 2/2 on a weekday sine 2008... which gave me plenty of material to draw from. Oddly enough, Troy Polymolyolygon has hosted two of those past Groundhog Day games... so why not make an excuse to bring him back for a third one? Because nobody wants to wake up every day and see that mess of hair...
1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist...
1. What's your name? Who's your daddy?
(He rich) Is he rich like me.
2. I have run I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
Only to be with you
3. Mary Hill used to love
To ride the merry-go-round
All the guys got eager eyes
Watching Mary go round
4. The moment that I step outside
So many reasons for me to run and hide
I can't do the little things I hold so dear
'Cause it's those little things that I fear
5. She fought every angel
She rearranged the sky
So that each and every woman
Could find the perfect guy
6. Well the kids don't eat
And the dog can't sleep
There's no escape from the music
In the whole damn street
7. take it to the bridge, throw it overboard
see if it can swim, back up to the shore.
no ones in the house, all the lights are on
and the blinds are down.
8. Well, I never used a phone booth
And I never seen my toes
When I'm going to the movies
I take up seven rows
9. Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations
Come beating on your door
10. What used to take two hours
Now takes all day
It took me sixteen hours
To get to L.A.
11. Sometime from now you'll bow to pressure
some things in life you cannot measure by degrees
I'm between the poles and the equator
don't send no private investigator to find me please
12. Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
13. Once I never could hope to win
You starting down the road leaving me again
The threats you made were meant to cut me down
And if our love was just a circus you'd be a clown by now
14. Concluding some terms
With a couple of steel firms
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
15. I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
Kroxquo Bonus: Name a song with artist that it seems like you hear every single day.
Image Bonus: Show me what you saw when you first poked your head up out of your burrow this morning.
