I like this song way better than that other Don McLean song from 1972, which shan't be named. That unmentionable song has been downright overhyped and overplayed, as far as I'm concerned.

It was an interesting move by the Pointer Sisters to do a country song, but it worked beautifully. It was a hit on both the pop and country charts, it won a Grammy, and Elvis recorded his own version a year later.

Yeah, you kinda knew this song would be on my list, considering all of the references that I've made to it over the years. It was just a matter of how high it would rank. You're not gonna see a whole lot of showtunes on my list, but this one undoubtedly belongs there... and not just because it's another perfect theme song for the Drumpf Administration. This is another song that has been passed around like a blunt at Snoop Dogg's mansion, with Frank Sinatra and Barbara Streisand doing their own versions at one time or another. But you really have to stick with the one that was the Top 40 hit.
