Daughter update

I hate to add to all the bad news today, but Heather apparently had a stroke yesterday. They say it was very mild and she should have no lasting problems, but she's still rather numb on her right side. On top of that, tonight she was unloading the dishwasher and sliced her thumb wide open because she couldn't feel the knife she hit. Of course she bled all over the place because of all the blood thinners they put her on. The way she described it, she probably lost half a unit. So she went back to the ER and got five stitches in her thumb.

Of course she doesn't bother to call dear old dad until he's about to go to bed.

If it's not one thing it's another. :(

Especially when it's long distance.

Thanks, I needed that.

I'm so sorry. I wish I were close enough to her to be able to offer help.

Of course, I realize you had the same wish first.

This has been a bummer of a day.

Hope she gets better soon.

So sorry to hear this, Bob. It's the stuff of parental nightmares, always.

I'm sorry, Bob. :(

And I'm getting nervous about continuing to read through the night's new threads...

Bob, I am so sorry. It has to be hard to be so far away and to not be able to make a difference right away.

I am sorry about your daughter, but I am glad that the stroke was mild.

My next door neighbor had a stroke and it took at least a year for her to get back to normal.
