Triviatoday.com wrote:Melvil Dewey may have come up with a good way to classify library books but was reportedly unable to control himself when he was near women. Dewey and other American Library Association members took a cruise in 1905 to Alaska to talk about the future of the ALA. Four women on the trip accused Dewey of sexual harassment. Within a year, Dewey was forced to step down from his involvement with the organization he helped to create.

Pornhub, one of the largest online porn sites in the world, took down over 10 million of its 13 million videos after allegations that the videos included scenes involving minors and nonconsensual activities. Pornhub denied the allegations but said it was showing responsibility by "leading by example." The site had operated similarly to Youtube in that anyone would could upload videos and subsequent site users could then download those videos directly to their home computers. The site is now limiting its contributors to accounts that have been verified or professional content providers (e.g., adult movie companies). All videos from other contributors have been removed.

Fashion magnate Peter Nygard charged in sex trafficking scheme, including minors

Federal prosecutors unsealed sex trafficking charges Tuesday against Canadian fashion magnate Peter Nygard, linking him to a suspected long-running scheme involving at least a dozen victims in the U.S., Bahamas, Canada and other locations.

Nygard, 79, was arrested by Canadian authorities Monday in Winnipeg at the request of U.S. officials.

For 25 years, prosecutors said, Nygard used the resources and influence of an international fashion empire to "recruit and maintain adult and minor-aged female victims for Nygard’s sexual gratification and the sexual gratification of his friends and business associates."

Evan Rachel Wood Alleges Marilyn Manson Abused Her

Evan Rachel Wood — the actor, singer and activist — has alleged that Marilyn Manson “horrifically abused” her for years when they were in a relationship, which she has alluded to when speaking about being a survivor of domestic violence over the years. Wood and Manson’s relationship became public in 2007 when she was 19 and he was 38. They became engaged in 2010, but broke up later that year.

The Lincoln Project, a group of prominent anti-Trump Republicans including George Conway, is now embroiled in its own sex scandal. One of its founders, John Weaver, a former campaign aide to John McCain, has been accused of sexual harassment in connection with young men working for the company. Weaver went on "medical leave" last August but was back in the organization around the time of the election. He has since released a statement apologizing to the men he made "uncomfortable" with his "inappropriate statements."

The entire organization is now in hot water on two fronts. First, when did they know about Weaver's actions and what did they do about it. There's evidence that these allegations surfaced last summer. Second, preliminary examinations of the Lincoln Project's finances indicate that they raised a lot of money that doesn't appear to be accounted for. Several high-level members have left the company in the last few weeks. Last week, one of the other founders, Jennifer Horn, resigned her position, and there are conflicting reports about Steve Schmidt, probably the most visible Lincoln Project representative (he's appeared numerous times on CNN and MSNBC) who may also have resigned in the last few hours. Schmidt released a statement tonight that: "I detest John Weaver in a way I can’t articulate, My heart breaks that young men felt unseen and unheard in an organization that I started. I am ashamed of it.” Schmidt added in the statement that he had been molested when he was young.

French Actor Gérard Depardieu Charged With Rape

Indictment stems from a 2018 incident where actor allegedly assaulted a then-22-year-old actress

French actor Gérard Depardieu has been charged with rape and sexual assault, the Agence France-Presse reports (via France 24 and Le Monde). The indictment against Depardieu, 72, was reportedly filed in December, although it wasn’t until Tuesday, February 23rd, that a source in the French justice system confirmed the charges.
Depardieu is accused of raping and sexually assaulting a then-22-year-old actress at his home in Paris in August 2018. The pair were reportedly rehearsing a scene for a play when the alleged incident took place, but a source told AFP “there was nothing professional about the encounter.”

A third woman has come forward to accuse Gov. Cuomo of unwanted advances, this time at a wedding reception where he put his hands on her cheeks after he allegedly put his hand on her lower back and asked if he could kiss her (she declined). This time, there are photographs of Cuomo holding the woman's cheeks (facial cheeks, not the other kind). Congresswoman Kathleen Rice, a New York Democrat has called on Cuomo to resign.

That's one difference between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats are willing to hold their own accountable for misconduct. Just ask Al Franken.
