A woman has filed suit against James Dolan, chairman of Madison Square Garden and governor of the Knicks and Rangers, accusing him and Harvey Weinstein of assaulting her in 2013. (Weinstein has also been named as a defendant.) Dolan supervises the day-to-day operations of the Knicks, Rangers, and WNBA New York Liberty and is also CEO of Madison Square Garden Sports. His wife is CEO of AMC Networks. At the time the alleged assault occurred, Dolan was lead singer of the opening act band for the Eagles tour. He allegedly pressured her into having sex with him several times and later introduced her to Weinstein, who also pressured her into having sex with him. Dolan denies the charges.

WWE founder Vince McMahon has been sued by a former staffer who accused him of sexual assault, trafficking, and physical abuse. The woman says McMahon promised her a job and promotions in exchange for sex. He also trafficked her out to other men, including John Laurinaitis (also a named defendant), a former wrestler who was a WWE executive. Among the allegations are that McMahon once defecated on this woman, then forced her to "service" Laurinaitis while still covered in poop. When she finally left the WWE, she received $3 million in exchange for signing NDAs. McMahon had been the subject of an internal WWE investigation previously into other allegations of sexual misconduct.

Donny is liable for another $83.3 million for defaming E. Jean Carroll by lying when he denied sexually assaulting her. That's another $18.3 million in compensatory damages and $65 million in punitive damages. --Bob

‘That ’70s Show’ actor Danny Masterson gets 30 years to life in prison for rapes of 2 women

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A judge sentenced “That ’70s Show” star Danny Masterson to 30 years to life in prison Thursday for the rapes of two women two decades ago.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo handed down the sentence to the 47-year-old Masterson after hearing statements from the women about the trauma they experienced and the suffering caused by the disturbing memories in the years since.

The actor, who has been in custody since May, sat in court wearing a suit. Masterson watched the women without visible reaction as they spoke.

https://apnews.com/article/danny-master ... d4c7053eb6
Masterson has now been transferred to the same maximum security prison where Charles Manson and Rodney Alcala (the Dating Game killer) served their sentences and died. Sirhan Sirhan was also in that prison at various times. Masterson will be eligible for parole in 2042, when he is 66. He has been denied bail pending his appeal because the judge deemed him a flight risk.

This local story is quite shocking.

Carl Kearney, a popular high school football coach in Griffin, GA (about 40 miles south of Atlanta), was arrested this week and charged with the strangulation murder of his girlfriend in Maryland. Kearney had previously been charged with battery against his ex-wife in Florida in 2015 but the wife declined to press charges. Kearney took over a high school program that won one game in 2020 and took them to the state playoffs the last three seasons, winning the regional title and being named Region Coach of the Year last season. Kearney remains in custody in Maryland after he turned himself into police there and confessed. Kearney played college football at Georgia Southern and was drafted by the New York Jets but never played in a regular season NFL game.

Sean "Diddy" Combs' LA and Miami homes raided by law enforcement, officials say

Sean "Diddy" Combs' homes in Los Angeles and Miami have been raided by Homeland Security Investigations agents and other law enforcement officers due to a possible ongoing sex trafficking investigation, U.S. officials confirmed Monday.

"Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners," HSI said in a statement. "We will provide further information as it becomes available."

Wander Franco 'to be formally accused of sexual exploitation of a minor' in new twist in case involving MLB star

Wander Franco will reportedly be formally accused of commercial sexual exploitation of a minor over an alleged relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

According to local newspaper, El Nuevo Diario, prosecutors in the Dominican Republic are planning to put forward formal allegations against the Tampa Bay Rays shortstop in June.

The authorities reportedly have until July to present formal accusations against the 23-year-old.

Franco is still being paid his $2million salary, despite not appearing in an MLB game since allegations first surfaced last summer. He remains under contract through 2032 and is reportedly owed $174m.

He is alleged to have had a relationship with the teenager and paid her mother thousands of dollars for her consent.

David Copperfield: Magician accused of sexual misconduct
BBC wrote:Magician David Copperfield has been accused of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour by 16 women.

Some of the alleged offences took place when the women were under 18, the Guardian newspaper has reported.

The allegations date from the late 1980s to 2014.

A representative for Copperfield told BBC News the allegations were "false and scurrilous" and "the exact opposite of who David is".

According to the Guardian, three of the women claim the magician drugged them before having sex with them. They said they did not feel able to consent.

In four instances, women alleged the magician groped them or made them touch him in a sexual manner during live performances on stage.

One woman said she met Copperfield in 1991 when she was 15 and he kept in contact with her through phone calls.

When she was 18, she says they had consensual sex, but the woman told the Guardian she believes she was groomed.

Copperfield's lawyers acknowledged the relationship to the newspaper but denied any grooming took place.

In a separate statement to the BBC, his lawyers said: "Everyone that knows David Copperfield will tell you that these recent allegations from one newspaper are the exact opposite of who David is.

"In fact, David has a record of risking his career to help protect women from powerful predators.

"Most of these historic accusations have been made before, and all of them are as false now as they were then. David requested the 'evidence' upon which these false allegations claim to rely and this has not been provided.

"By contrast, whenever US law enforcement has looked into such matters, they have been investigated thoroughly and it has been found that there is simply no case to answer.

"The Guardian's characterization is not who David is, and he continues to support anyone who has experienced any form of abuse or discrimination. The movement must succeed, but false accusations must stop for it to flourish. David will be considering the position with his legal team and will take such steps as may be appropriate over these false and scurrilous allegations."

Copperfield has previously been accused of inappropriate behaviour and in 2018 he denied historical allegations of sexual misconduct.

"I've lived with years of news reports about me being accused of fabricated, heinous acts, with few telling the story of the accuser getting arrested, and my innocence," he wrote on X/Twitter at the time.

Copperfield is one of America's best-known magicians. He has won 21 Emmy Awards and holds 11 Guinness World Records.

Eric Weinberg, 63, the writer/producer for TV series Scrubs and Californication, will stand trial in September in Los Angeles on 28 charges of sexual abuse against eight different women from 2014 to 2019. Four other charges were dismissed this week. The charges include three counts of forcible rape and several others of other forced sexual acts. He's been in jail since October and faces multiple life sentences if convicted. Weinberg allegedly approached the women in public, lured them to his house for a photo shoot for a possible modeling career, and then assaulted them.

Commanders cut Brandon McManus after sexual assault lawsuit

The Washington Commanders released kicker Brandon McManus, days after a lawsuit that was filed against him became public alleging sexual assault from an incident that occurred when he was a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced Sunday.

Washington had signed McManus to a one-year, $3.6 million deal this offseason, opting not to re-sign Joey Slye. On Monday, the day ESPN reported the lawsuit, a Commanders spokesperson said the team was aware of the situation and was in contact with the NFL as well as McManus' representation.

The women -- identified as Jane Doe I and Jane Doe II in the lawsuit filed May 24 in Duval County Circuit Civil Court -- accuse McManus of rubbing himself against them and grinding against them. They also accuse the Jaguars of failing to supervise McManus and failing to create a safe environment for staff serving the team.

Former New York Giants star Lawrence Taylor was arrested again this week for failing to follow the requirements for registered sex offenders. Taylor is charged with failing to report a change of name or address as required and his attorney claims it was a misunderstanding. He was arrested on similar charges in 2021 and the case was pled out. This time, he remained in jail for several hours Wednesday night before being released.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A grand jury has returned a new indictment against Harvey Weinstein, prosecutors with the Manhattan DA's office said in court.

Weinstein, who is recuperating after emergency heart surgery, was not present and prosecutors asked the judge to set a date for his arraignment.

Weinstein's lawyers on Thursday said he would have liked to be present but currently has a shunt in his chest.

After a back and forth with the prosecution, Judge Curtis Farber did rule that he would remain at Bellevue Hospital's prison ward for the time being instead of going back to Riker's Island where he was being held because "inattention carries very real risks that he could find himself again in a crisis."

The Manhattan DA did confirm there is a new indictment with new alleged victims and they are asking for these charges to be consolidated with the original indictment.

There's an interesting twist in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. In the original film, Catherine O'Hara and a teenaged Winona Ryder move into the house that winds up being haunted by Beetlejuice. The sequel takes place years later in the same house, with O'Hara and Ryder reprising their roles from the original film. However, the actor who played Charles Deetz, Ryder's father and O'Hara's husband, Jeffery Jones, was later arrested on charges of propositioning a minor and wound up on the sex offenders list. His acting career was pretty much finished.

In the sequel, Charles Deetz dies in the first few minutes of the movie, and his corpse reappears later as a running sight gag. Rather than just mentioning his death (or recasting the role), Tim Burton created an elaborate animated scene showing the commercial airliner crashing and Jones surviving the crash, only to get eaten by a shark. (The eventual payoff is one of the best visual gags in the film.)

Wikipedia wrote:Jones was arrested in 2002 for possession of child sexual abuse material and soliciting a 14-year-old boy to produce sexually explicit images between September 2000 and May 2001.[35][36][37] Jones photographed the child and paid him to pose nude on multiple occasions, wearing a cowboy hat with stuffed animals and dressed as a Native American.[38] Jones surrendered himself and was released on bond prior to arraignment.[39] Jones pleaded not guilty to the possession charge[40] and no contest to a charge of soliciting a minor. The victim initiated a separate civil action against Jones, seeking damages and compensation.[41] The misdemeanor charge of possession of child pornography was dropped following the no-contest plea.[42] His attorney emphasized that there was no allegation of improper physical contact. His punishment was five years probation, counseling, and the requirement to register as a sex offender.[43][44] As of 2021, Jones was listed on the California Department of Justice's national sex offender database.[45]

NFL ends probe of Browns' Watson in latest sexual assault case

The NFL has ended its review of sexual assault allegations that were levied against Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson in September, a league spokesperson told ESPN.

The spokesperson said there was insufficient evidence to support a finding of a violation of the personal conduct policy.

One day after the Browns' season opener, a new lawsuit was filed accusing Watson of sexual assault and battery. In October, lawyers for both sides told ESPN the case had been resolved. Attorney Tony Buzbee, who represented the woman who was suing Watson, told ESPN that there was a confidential settlement.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed Sept. 9 in Harris County, Texas, the alleged actions occurred in October 2020 before Watson and a woman, identified as Jane Doe in the court filing, were set to have dinner at her apartment. Watson was a member of the Houston Texans at the time.

Watson denied the allegations in a statement issued by his attorney, Rusty Hardin. The NFL had been reviewing the complaint under the personal conduct policy, but the league did not place Watson on the commissioner exempt list because there have been no formal charges filed and the review had just begun.
