Jane Darling Lefco, age 58, of Atlanta died unexpectedly on April 27, 2008. Jane was loving, caring, generous, and best wife and mom with many wonderful friends. She is survived by her husband, Stan; daughter, Leah Lefco; son, Michael Lefco; sister and brother, Ann and Michael Levin; nephew, David and Ilene Levin; niece, Leigh (Levin) and Mathew Nathan; great-nieces and great-nephews, Aaron and Lily Levin and Rachel and Rebecca Nathan, all of Atlanta; cousins, Sally and Julie Forb, St. Louis, and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Mose Darling.
Jane was the mother of my oldest daughter's best friend and the mother of one of my oldest son's friends. Through the children, we became very good friends. Although small in stature, she was a fun, smart, witty and very generous woman. Always with a smile. Always with a joke. Whenever anyone wanted to know what was going on in the Jewish community, all we had to do was call Jane. She knew it all. A true Yenta. A dear friend who will be sorely missed.
I saw Jane just a week ago. She looked at me and said, "Ace? Now I can say that you really do have gray hair !!"
Stan married right out of college, 30+ years ago. After 2 years, his wife died of serious illness. Jane was his second wife. At this point, he has shown a great deal of strength, on the outside. I can only imagine how this is (will) affect him on the inside.
