calvinatorette I played her first volleyball match today. She plays in a YMCA league.

Her team won, and she played well. She is by far the smallest and youngest player on her team. The minimum age is 9, and she just turned 9 a month ago.

Before the game I told her, "Do your best. Have fun. Call the ball if it's in your area."

Woo hoo for Calvinatorette I!

So how old are the oldest players on the team? Do the players play the whole game or get substituted in and out?

The league is up to 6th grade.

They play with a set rotation in/out spot at center-back if there are more than 6 players, but this morning, 2 of calvinatorette I's teammates weren't there, so they only had 6. Thus, she played every point.

The other team also had 6.

Good for her!

Playing with the 'big girls' will give her skills that are hard to come by. It's great that she has taken this on.
