Players such as Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte and Paul O'Neill came to the Yanks under his watch. He also ran the now-famous con job on George Steinbrenner...when Steinbrenner wanted them to trade Bernie Williams, Michael told him that no teams were interested in Williams. That was a complete lie. As a result, Bernie became one of the main cogs in the Yankee machine instead of starring for another team. Without Michael's acute baseball knowledge and eye for talent, the Yanks would've been lucky to have won ONE championship, let alone four of them from '96-'00.
