More Enlightened Tweets from the White House

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Thu Jun 29, 2017 9:14 am

I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came ... to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!
This one was too much even for Lindsey Graham and Ben Sasse, both of whom criticized the President, but Trump has yet to back down and Sarah Huckabee Sanders referred to it at the press briefing today as "fighting fire with fire." White House director of social media Don Scavino this morning referred to Mika Brzeznski as "dumb as a rock."

Every time Trump gets some traction, as he has recently as a result of the CNN stories that were pulled back, he then squanders it with stunts like this. This will play well with the 20% or so who would applaud Trump if he actually strangled Mika Brzeznski on camera but not with anyone else.

I'm just eager to see how Sean Hannity, Flock, and the other Trump apologists are going to spin this one.

Mika Brzezinski (that's the right spelling) doesn't need Hannity & Co.'s help. She can stand up for herself.

One more time, SSS, grow the f**k up already, OK?

I am not a Trump apologist, I am just grouped in your mind with those who are against you, because you can't see beyond the 'me vs them' mindset of 'progressiveness'. I've said many times that trump should stop tweeting, or else get someone with some tact and subtlety review his tweets before he sends them. I agree with him that the MSM is out to get him, but this kind of response is totally counter-productive and stupid.

And, no, I didnt consult with any of your boogiemen before I responded, nor do I ever, while your posts are always something that comes directly from the liberal talking points of the day. So now you have my 'spin'. Happy? If Hannity or anyone else says the same thing, it's because they agree with me, it's not me 'parroting' them.

If you are President of the United States, getting criticized - fairly or unfairly - goes with the territory. Our two previous Presidents - men from opposite sides of the political spectrum - each had to face an almost daily barrage of criticism. Both Bush and Obama handled it with more dignity than this thin-skinned snowflake.

Now on the other hand, I can remember when the press had some class, dignity and a modicum of respect.. Not anymore. The President, unfortunately, has gone down to their level.

Politicians who don't like what the media are saying will dump on the media no matter how much class, dignity, and respect they show.

Well, I'm not a politician, but I can see what they do and how they twist things to their own obvious agenda. And, if you're honest, you will admit that trump has gotten A LOT more negative coverage than Obama, and even Bush. trump deserves much of it, but the MSM is going way over the line.

I quit watching TV news approximately two years ago, when it became more than even this news junkie could handle. I was forcibly exposed (thanks to a hotel stay this past week) to smatterings of both CNN and Fox Opinionews this week, to my dismay. I heard things I never thought I would hear from non-tabloid sources. I think it's obvious that, unfortunately, the self-fulfilling prophecy of people who rail against the mainstream media has come true. There are no non-tabloid news sources left on TV anywhere that I can find. I have resorted to reuters.com for news, and fivethirtyeight.com for analysis. NPR is still roughly okay, as long as you keep their bias (and it's not so much liberal bias as it is what Roger Ailes would have called "elitist bias") in mind. As someone who was trained in the methods of Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite, I"m very sad.

This is one year when Saturday Night Live should have kept doing new shows through the summer.

SNL hasn't been funny for years. And they've been given plenty of fodder.

It's not just a question of media coverage. Trump will lash out in the most juvenile ways at anyone who criticizes or slights him.

At the risk of sounding like a bratty 6 year-old, "He started it!!!"

Well, the path to the all-out viciousness of the situation anyway.

His campaign dialogue was inflammatory and had fact checkers working overtime. Anything that was in the least bit critical was an affront to his incredibly massive ego and had him retaliating with petulant insults and the "fake news" battle cry. Add in the countless ill-advised tweets that continue to this day, and yeah, it's quite obvious no matter which side of the political fence you're on, MOST of the media is waiting to pounce on any little misstep, verbally or otherwise, the man makes.

I admit that there have been times when I've seen something on Pres. Trump that made me think "ok, come on now, that's a little too picayune..does that really make any kind of a difference", but it seems that it's escalated past a pullback point...I can almost imagine one of the parties saying early on, in the immortal words of Bugs Bunny, "of course you know, this means war!".

Trump's latest tweet storm followed Morning Joe ridiculing him for displaying fake Time magazine covers. Then afterwards, the "small hands" photo above. Seems like some reporters are pushing Trump's buttons, hoping for an over-the-top response.

Up until fairly recently, Morning Joe gave Trump fairly good coverage, and don't forget he hosted SNL just about one year to the day before his election (after he was an announced candidate). With Trump, it's always "what have you done for me lately." That's one big difference between Trump and Nixon. Nixon's inner circle, Haldeman, Ehrlichman, Mitchell, and the others were all incredibly loyal to him. They would have taken a bullet for him gladly. There's no such loyalty with Trump. Everyone knows that they are only around as long as it pleases Trump. That's probably the main reason there have been so many leaks from his inner circle as opposed to Nixon's during the Watergate era.

And that's the whole purpose. It's the same reason that fans make lots of noise when the visiting team attempts a free throw. I don't think any liberal cares how big Trump's hands are, but they know it gets a reaction from him and that he's likely to retaliate by saying something damaging to himself or his position.

The question should be why is the President of the United States so thin skinned that he allows something like this to upset him. You might say this dirty tricks on the Democrats part (although the small hands theme first emerged during the Republican debates), but what do you think other world leaders will do when they get face to face with Trump in a private setting?

The problem with trying to goad him into saying something embarrassing is that he says embarrassing things all the time and it doesn't seem to matter.
