Mena, Arkansas-WTF?

You may, or may not, remember that Mena, Arkansas, held a prominent place in conspiracy theories during Clinton's presidency. I don't feel like googling it-but go ahead if you like.
I am reading "My Friend, The Mercenary" by James Brabazon. The first 2/3 of the book entails the journeys of Brabazon and a merc (Nick) that he hired to guide him into Liberia during the Civil Wars there in 2002/2003.
The last 1/3 is about the attempted coups in Equatorial Guinea (and other places) that snagged Mark Thatcher-he of the Margaret Thatcher.
Nick figured very heavily into this coup and was arrested in EG.
Barbazon, very narrowly, missed being on site during the coup as he was going to film it-and so forth.
He was studying the convoluted mess afterwards and noted that a (possibly?) CIA linked plane that was involved in the coup attempt originated in Mena, Arkansas.
That cracked me up.
