There is a strong movement here (and other places) to equate the modern "Carry-On" which basically means "bury your head in the sand and forget about the problem until the next attack" with the British "Stiff Upper Lip" and "We Will Never Surrender" of WW2.
Lest we forget-the most direct British response to the Blitz was 'Bomber Harris" the British air arm chief who is most known for his advocacy of area bombing of German cities which killed millions of innocent Germans.

Londoners also survived years of IRA bombings.Spock wrote:There is a strong movement here (and other places) to equate the modern "Carry-On" which basically means "bury your head in the sand and forget about the problem until the next attack" with the British "Stiff Upper Lip" and "We Will Never Surrender" of WW2.

There is also a big difference between fighting back at terrorists and "fighting back" by abusing hapless refugees who can't defend themselves.jarnon wrote: Prime Minister May and (contrary to President Trump's tweets) Mayor Khan don't think "Carry-On" means not fighting back.
They have already arrested 12 people in connection with the stabbings, and if you'll look back at one of the earlier threads on this subject, I posted links to several arrests that had been made in the month prior to the Manchester bombing throughout the UK.
